A Flower Arrangement in a Vintage Find

Sometimes the perfect vessel for a flower arrangement is just an antique store find or Etsy score away. While antiquing in Concord a couple weeks ago, I stumbled upon this vintage maple syrup jug from 1910. What caught my eye was the beautiful blue color, very similar to my kitchen range and a favorite of mine. And I figured, given some spring flowers, this would make the perfect addition to our kitchen this spring–a flower arrangement in a vintage find.

And then I got to thinking, what a special gift idea. For example, find a couple of vintage treasures, pick up some flowers from the store and it could make a great house warming gift or teacher appreciation present. Consequently, an easy way to take an ordinary arrangement of flowers and make it more meaningful.

For this arrangement I stuck with spring flowers in white tones that I picked up from my local grocery store.

I’m not a flower arranging expert so I just kept putting flowers and greenery in until it felt full, wispy and complete.

I added these sweet tags I made off PicMonkey and attached with some simple cotton twine–to you with love.

Keep your eyes open the next time you’re at a garage sale, antique store or flea market. Snag a couple inexpensive treasures and you’ll have the perfect gift the next time you need one in a hurry–a flower arrangement in a vintage find. These moments were captured beautifully by Ruthie from Ruth Eileen Photography. Head on over to some friends below to see their spring flower ideas.
