Lovely Gifts for Mom

Well, it’s been a downer of a week around these parts and I’ve been feeling blue. How are you doing? I can handle personal disappointments way better than I can handle disappointments that directly affect my kiddos. They are not at a point where school is a burden, rather an immense joy. Now that school has been cancelled for the rest of the school year they are pretty sad. A mother’s burden I suppose; you feel your kid’s hurts acutely and their tears are quick to affect your heart. It has me reflecting on my motherhood journey.

MOTHER’S DAY GIFT IDEAS

Mother’s Day is May 10th, a little over two weeks away and historically a day to acknowledge this sacrifice and fierce love of mommas. My hubby started a tradition a few years ago of taking the boys to a kitchen store and letting them pick something out for me. Last year I got a garlic peeler. Haha!! Thank you Kai. And it’s beautiful no matter what it looks like but I have to confess, I’m sad there won’t be a school gift made by little hands and directed by their teachers–all the little losses of a pandemic.

As a result of Mother’s Day looming in our future and my attempts to shrug off the fact this is my first one without my mom, I put together a little grouping of sweet finds–lovely gifts for mom. To be truthful, I hesitated because it just doesn’t feel like a time for gifts. You might not feel like shopping mommas, but chances are there are people in your life that still want to celebrate you and you might want to celebrate some mommas in your own life. Now what momma doesn’t want a bouquet of fragrant, organically-grown, real garden roses?! Probably my favorite find to date (these pictures above are from Grace Rose Farm), a purchase of these roses helps this small family farm in California during a time when weddings and events are being cancelled. In addition, it blesses the recipient with one of the most gorgeous arrangements ever. In the end, gathering these finds together felt like welcome normalcy. I kept the majority under $50 because times are hard right now. That cute scarf scrunchie is $9.99 and the set of three planters is $38. I hope you enjoy these lovely gifts for mom.
