I feel like the business of life is pushing in on me a bit these days. There’s just been a lot of good, fun things happening. But also things that take work and time and sanity! It’s all been leaving me feeling a bit depleted. Sunday night the Christmas boxes exploded in my kitchen and overwhelmed me to the point of tears after we drove up to New Hampshire and cut down our trees. Just one day after we had dog-themed decorations all over the deck and house for Kai’s 5th birthday party. It was a quick turnaround time this year for getting holiday decorations up and photographed in a timely matter. The many joys of the blogging world. We stayed up until 2 am, thoroughly exhausted ourselves but it looks lovely and now we get to just glide on in to the holidays. But it made me very mindful of what too much stuff can do to a heart. So take this all with a grain of salt friends. YOU are worth more than stuff and you don’t need anything to pull off a magical holiday season. Consider this inspiration (if you want it) for simple Christmas decor.

Given the craziness of the year, uncluttered and unfussy is the theme of the day. Natural greenery, sage green ribbon and wood hues–you’ll be seeing it all with some Christmas home tours coming soon. Probably my favorite purchase this year were these absolutely adorable stockings from Target. Beautiful quality and they perfectly matched the sage ribbon I had already bought. I can’t wait to show you the mantel. In the meantime, here’s some of my favorite finds to get you the look we were going for this year.
