The playroom bookshelves–an ever changing slice of joy for this momma. I change them out for the seasons or on a whim when I’m wanting to highlight a holiday, theme or special event. I’m on an earthy tones kick this holiday if you haven’t noticed between the two home tours and holiday projects happening around this joint. Soooo, is it any surprise we’re making a pinecone tree garland for the kids?
8-10 Small Pinecones
Rusty Metal Stars (I had the Etsy seller make me a custom listing and send just the smallest ones)
Hot Glue
Scissors
Start by measuring your garland length. I held my ribbon up to the shelves to determined how much of a drape I wanted. I usually just tape the ends of the ribbon to either side of the lowest shelf. Then I laid out the ribbon and spaced out the pinecones. I found that tucking the ribbon into the pinecone near the top and hot glueing it there helped it hang better.
I ended up hot glueing on the stars while the garland was up on the shelves so I could make them as visible as possible. Simple and cute. This pinecone tree garland for the kids is the perfect addition to their playroom bookshelves. Beautiful pictures by Ruth Eileen Photography. Here are some of our favorite books:
