It’s finally that time of year! When we were remodeling our home two years ago, Black Friday sales were my best friend. I saved thousands of dollars buying all of my lighting for the remodel even though we had only just begun construction. Think ahead and think outside the box. You don’t just need to buy holiday gifts, think about upcoming projects you have for your home (hello new pendant lights), summer travel plans (oh hi there new camera), parties for your kiddos (Frozen fans out there). If you are going to be spending money on these things anyways in a couple months time, it’s foolish to not try and save money where you can. I get overwhelmed by crowds so I will NEVER be a “get up early and go shopping” person. But thankfully for homebodies like muah online sites provide steep discounts on Black Friday through Cyber Monday. So good news, you don’t have to be stampeded.

So where do you start? Make a list of upcoming life events. Are you planning on moving to a new apartment or home? Think about investing in a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Baby due in the summer? Time to upgrade your phone or buy a sweeeet camera or simply stock up on baby supplies, from diapers to a crib. Are you putting in a swimming pool? Buy those pool toys and store them under the bed. Seems silly doesn’t it but you can save a bunch of money and that always feels nice.
So where do you shop? Once I know what I’m planning on purchasing, I scan a few of my favorite sites for the best deals. Amazon, Target, Best Buy for electronics and gadgets. For lighting, I love Foundary Lighting. For home decor I go to my favorites like Serena & Lily who are having an amazing 25% off sitewide sale. Their casual, coastal, elegant style resonates with many different styles and provides a great all-in-one stop for holiday shopping. It’s the perfect place to start your Black Friday shopping in my humble opinion. I love them so much I have a whole other round-up just on Serena & Lily below and you can see all my other favorites here. Other go-tos would be McGee & Co, Dear Keaton, Candelabra, Lulu and Georgia, One Kings Lane.

Do you wait for Cyber Monday or just pull the trigger over Black Friday? This is a dilemma for sure. Last year I found that the Black Friday sales mostly stayed through Cyber Monday and didn’t get better on the actual Cyber Monday except for a few exceptions. For home sites like McGee & Co, they often reveal their expected discount via email to subscribers. Below is a link to the sales and codes to make your day a bit easier.
