Cozy 4th of July Tablescape

Last year’s Fourth of July tablescape was beautiful, festive and oh-so-lovely. Featured on Style Me Pretty Living and captured by Ruth Eileen Photography, it’s still my favorite. But this year, given the fact we’re early pregnant and still trying to dodge construction workers as they finish the upstairs part of the addition, I’m tuckered out. Haha! And see the reality is, whether you’re going all out for a festive 4th of July soiree in your backyard or you’re hanging out with your babies and quietly celebrating in your new breakfast nook, either look works!

Simple yet festive, the vintage number 4 from Laurel Grove, a home store in Sudbury, Ma and the ikat pitcher are a subtle nod to the holiday without being your typical flag-ladden Fourth of July decor. Sometimes sticking to colors and textures gives you the look without having to go the typical route with the decor of a holiday. And not that I don’t love our flag, I just want it happily waving outside in the breeze.

Gosh sometimes simple white flowers are just what a space needs. I love the different textures from the thistle to the Queen Anne’s Lace. Adding them to the pitcher was the perfect addition to our breakfast nook. Those natural wild flowers last longer too. They’re still going strong.

I used the same placemats from last year and added navy check plates I found at Home Goods and those chambray napkins from the Mother’s Day table (reuse those goods my friends!). Gotta love those HomeGoods finds too. Snag them up when you see them. Heavy and substantial, the plates are so pretty too. My sweet friend Ruthie did a great job photographing them in this space.

The table itself is a classic marble-topped tulip table from Rove Concepts. The chairs are the tucker chairs in mushroom from Serena and Lily

Happy fourth of July my USA friends. I hope your holiday is lovely, full of yummy food and brimming with warm company. And maybe some sunshine too. That’s our hope here in the arctic, whoops, I mean Boston.
