Easy Pumpkin Craft with Mums

Happy weekend friends! Looking for an easy fall pumpkin craft? This BOO pumpkin spelled out with mum flowers couldn’t be any easier. It’s adorable and surprisingly done with tools you probably have on hand–hammer, nail, scissors and mum flower buds. The moisture in the pumpkin keeps the mums alive for quite awhile too, mine are going on two weeks. Win, win, win.

If using fully opened mum flowers, chose a word with less letters or it is hard to read. But you can easily spell longer words or names with mum buds. I wrote the word, in this case BOO, lightly with a pencil first so I had a guide when hammering nail holes to slide the flowers into. Cut your mums leaving 1/2″ of stem so they stick into the nail hole in the side of the pumpkin. Use a smaller nail so the mum flowers don’t fall out, the stems are thin and space your nail holes about every 1/2″ or less depending on how open the flower bud. You’ll get the hang of it pretty quickly.

Such a fun and easy craft. It took all of 15 minutes and that was with trial and error. So enjoy this fall season with a fun pumpkin craft that won’t make you want to pull your hair out. These sweet pictures were captured by Ruth Eileen Photography.
