Are you as smitten with these sweet bottle brush trees as I am!? They’ve made their way into just about every nook and cranny of my holiday home this year. They come in every color in the rainbow but as happy as those are, my heart just gravitates to the creamy white ones. They’re just so lovely. So I got to work crafting the perfect winter bottle brush wreath with these little trees and hope you love the result as much as I do.
This couldn’t be easier even if you aren’t a typical DIY lover. I started by disassembling an old 12″ grapevine wreath I had on hand because that’s the nature of the blogging business, you’ve just got stuff everywhere but you can easily grab a 12″ wreath at your local craft store or here.
I used 8 natural bottle brush trees in 4 sizes (2 in, 2.5 in, 3.5 in, 5 in) which I bought in a multi-pack here. It was difficult finding a grouping of just natural-colored bottle brush trees. As a result I settled for these which came quickly and look beautiful on the wreath. My friend Janine, from Happy Happy Nester successfully bleached her colored ones so that is a possibility, I just haven’t tried it yet with this set.
Here’s the messy part. Using clear Elmer’s glue, drizzle it randomly on the wreath, heavier towards the bottom than the top. Sprinkle the artificial snow over the glue, patting it in to the glue so it sticks and shake the wreath to remove non-attached snow.
Using a hot glue gun, stagger the bottle brush trees at the base of the wreath starting with the biggest tree staggering the smaller ones in front and off to the sides. This creates a nice grouping that looks nestled in the “snow.”
Finally, I topped it off with a beautiful blush coral ribbon. A pretty winter wreath that’ll have you whistling “dashing through the snow…”. Literally every single time you walk by. And in my case, I have this hanging on the laundry room barn door. So a lot. All these beautiful pictures were captured by my dear friend Ruthie from Ruth Eileen Photography.
